Wall decals are often made with a combination of vinyl + transfer film. In this case, the wall decal can include very sharp cuts and thin parts (refer to the image below), because the transfer film keeps the decal together during installation. The transfer film is carefully removed once the decal is attached to the surface. These types of decals are commonly single-colored. Read more about transfer film decal material.
Matte vinyl has also been found to be an excellent material for wall decals. A matte decal flexes a lot compared to other materials, making it easy to install without leaving air bubbles in the decal. This also means that the decal is not limited to one color like vinyl + transfer film combination.
