Offset printing is based on the repulsion of fat and water. Areas on the printing plate that accept ink repel water, while non-image areas that repel ink accept water. Because printing ink is oily, it only sticks to ink-receptive areas. The image to be printed does not transfer directly from the printing plate to the paper, but first onto a rubber blanket and from there onto the paper. (Wikipedia, accessed 1.1.2010)

In offset printing, almost any file format can be used. Formats like jpg, pdf, bmp, gif, eps, ai etc. usually work just fine. Photos and other color gradients in graphics work well in offset printing. However, the image should be of the highest quality possible. The color space should be CMYK, color profile U.S. Web Coated (SWOP) v2, and all rasterized images at least 300 dpi.
Additionally, when it comes to the cutting path, both inward and outward must have 2mm bleeds. This ensures that the content of the sticker is safe.

With offset printing, we primarily produce glossy laminated as well as matte laminated plastic stickers, but we also print some of our special materials using offset printing, such as epoxy/bubble stickers, brushed aluminum, and chrome vinyl.
